REGGAETON NIÑOS

Niños Vol. 2 is a very special project that has been brought to life due to the popularity of the reggaeton genre with an innovative, fresh and charming approach. The album features six talented Latin youths between the ages of 11 and 14 who interpret pop, reggaeton and hip-hop hits that appeal to kids’ tastes. Niños Vol. 2 will be released on August 29th, 2006. The project was conceived by Afuego records, and will be distributed by UBO (Urban Box Office), a company that distributes original content from established artists and new talents at accessible prices in traditional music stores and throughout non-traditional outlets.

The group of Niños Vol. 2 is formed by 4 talented girls and two brilliant boys who live in New York City and have origins in several Latin American countries. P-Star (whose real name is Priscilla Diaz) is the featured artist in the CD. She was born in New York to parents from Puerto Rico and Cuba. The 11 year-old started singing and taking acting and dancing lessons at the early age of 7. Familiar with the stage and performing along the East Coast, it is simply natural that P-Star is a part of Niños Vol. 2. She just signed her first record deal for a solo album with UBO, and has appeared in several MTV shows, amongst others. Andrea Martínez is the oldest of the group at 14 years of age. She was born in Queens, NY and has Spanish origins. Andrea started singing at 6 years old and has been an honor student since Elementary School. Verónica Espinal, who is 11 years old, was also born in New York to Dominican roots. Vero has appeared in different school plays and talent shows. She also sings at her school choir and her local church choir.

Amy Quichiz, who is also 11 years old, was born in Queens, NY to Colombian and Peruvian parents. As an actress, she just participated in the Panamanian film “Grandpa”. She is also a radio personality and a journalist who has received 7 awards for her work. She has been acting, singing and modeling since she is 3 years old. Isaac Ponce was born in New York 12 years ago to Honduran parents and began to sing just three years before joining Niños. The youngest of four siblings, Isaac was inspired by his grandma to sing; as a result, he sings with the Young People’s Chorus of NYC and has decided to make music his professional career. Eleven year-old William Guiracoche completes the group. With mix origins from South America, Venezuela and Ecuador, the youngster began to sing when he saw the Three Tenors for the first time in his life. He is also working on developing his acting and modeling career.

Niños Vol. 2 contains ten (10) Pop, Reggaeton and Hip-Hop smash hits plus two (2) original tracks. The music videos and other exclusive Niños themed content are available online at www.ninosvol2.com. In order to promote the colorful artwork chosen to be the CD cover (designed by New York based painter Billy The Artist – www.BILLYARTNYC.com) UBO, Billy The Artist and kids from the local community will create Niños murals at retail record stores around the country. The album artwork will be used as a tool to promote the participation of kids in artistic projects.
