The jewelry line was especially designed to help the Foundation raise awareness about the rights of children throughout the world and to fight child exploitation.
Miami, Fla. (December 10, 2012) Czech-Brazilian top model and jewelry designer Dominika Pštrosová joins other celebrities who support the tireless efforts of Ricky Martin in helping at-risk children through the Ricky Martin Foundation. To aid in this worthy cause, the DP TAU exclusive bracelet collection is being launched.
“Thanks to people like Ricky Martin, who is constantly working to educate others in his efforts to end human trafficking, many of us began to be aware of the need to help, in any way possible, in this fight against a crime that, as he well says, ‘Has no place in today’s world’,” says the designer.
Like many other young women, Dominika left her country several years ago in the hopes of becoming an international model. Although she was lucky to have been discovered by someone both professional and trustworthy, she is aware that many girls throughout the world who share the same dream are abused, mistreated and forced into prostitution.
Each bracelet from the DP TAU collection is made with onyx stones, symbolic of strength, resistance, courage and protection. The bracelet comes with a design laminated in gold with the Foundation’s Tau symbol, which represents hope for children in need. A percentage of the sales from each piece of jewelry will be donated to the Ricky Martin Foundation to continue its work helping and saving children throughout the world.
Dominika was born in the Czech Republic; her father is Brazilian and her mother is Czech. Her modeling career began at age 18, when a talent scout discovered her and quickly hired her to work for an important agency in Paris.
She has modeled for Versace, Valentino, Fendi, Bottega Veneta, Acqua Alessandro Dell, Miu Miu and La Perla, among others. Her image has appeared in the most important fashion magazines in the world, including Vogue, Marie Claire, L’Officiel, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Allure, Ema, Vanidades and Harper’s Bazaar. Her face has been seen representing brands such as Hugo Boss, Marella, Triumph, Palmers, Elegancia Vie, Junker, Texgold and Bigox, to name just a few.
A few years ago, Dominika decided to pursue her talents as a designer, joining forces with an American company to create DP, with clothing, accessories and jewelry lines around the world.
“With the DP TAU bracelet we want to continue supporting children throughout the world. We would like this bracelet to become a symbol of hope, a ray of light in this worldwide crisis of child exploitation. The TAU bracelet is not only a design… It is a feeling… It means to become aware,” says Dominika.
